Reflecting on Teaching
Self-Reflection
Although the Post Conference form on iObservation is not mandatory, completing it could assist the teacher in getting innovating or applying datamarks in Domain 3. By using this form, the educator is reflecting on his/her lesson: teacher presentation and student understanding.
After each formal observation, the observer will sit with the teacher and review the reflection form. A professional dialog is held between the two about how the lesson went, strengths, and weaknesses.
It is during this time of reflecting, teachers become aware of their strengths as well as their weaknesses. They then create a mental plan (or make a revision to the unit plan) on how to perfect or improve their future lessons. Here is an example of a Pre-K teacher's reflection.
A MLE teacher gave permission for the post-conference form to be uploaded on this page.
